Taxonomy
Natica minima was named by Brown (1839). Its type locality is Newtown, River Irk, Bed 4, which is in a Wuchiapingian shallow subtidal packstone in the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Littorina minima by Howse (1848); it was recombined as Naticopsis minima by Airaghi (1907), Dietz (1911), Pattison (1970), Pattison (1977), Hollingworth and Barker (1991) and Mazaev (2015).
