Eriphiidae was named by MacLeay (1838) [includes some mud and stone crabs]. It is extant. Its type is Eriphia.
It was assigned to Xanthoidea by Schweitzer (2003) and Schweitzer (2005); and to Eriphioidea by Karasawa and Schweitzer (2006), Schweitzer et al. (2010), Luque et al. (2017) and Schweitzer et al. (2020).
