Taxonomy
Cryptoporidae was named by Muir-Wood (1955). It is extant. Its type is Cryptopora.

It was assigned to Rhynchonelloidea by Cooper (1959); to Rhynchonellida by Wienrich (1999); and to Dimerelloidea by Williams et al. (2002) and Emig et al. (2013).
