It was assigned to Cerithiopsinae by Hoerle (1972); to Cerithiadae by Weisbord (1962) and Ward and Blackwelder (1987); to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cerithiopsidae by Martin (1904), Harris and Palmer (1947), Sohl (1964), Ladd (1972), Wilson (1993), Rosenberg (2005) and Darragh (2017).
