Taxonomy
Uranaster elizae was named by Spencer (1914). Its type specimen is Holotype BMNH E52588a,b and is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Promopalaeaster elizae by Spencer (1916), Owen (1965), Spencer and Wright (1966) and Dean Shackleton (2005).
