Taxonomy
Torellella crasseocochlia was named by Syssoiev (1962). It is not extant. Its type specimen is YaFAN 131/8. It is the type species of Turcutheca.
It was recombined as Circotheca crasseocochlia by Rozanov and Missarzhevsky (1966); it was misspelled as Turcutheca crassaecochlia by Dzik (2010); it was recombined as Turcutheca crasseocochlia by Rozanov et al. (1969) and Kouchinsky et al. (2017).
