It was reranked as Terebellum (Seraphs) by Vredenburg (1925).

It was assigned to Gastropoda by Link (1830), Gray (1841), Paetel (1888) and Bronn (1907); to Terebellum by Vredenburg (1925); to Strombidae by Durham (1944); to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Seraphsidae by Harzhauser (2007) and Darragh (2017).
