Taxonomy
Quadrotheca clinisepta was named by Syssoiev (1960). Its type specimen is YaFAN 31.10, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Costatheca.

It was recombined as Costatheca clinisepta by Rozanov et al. (1969).
