Taxonomy
Pseudoltinomys nanus was named by Thaler (1969). Its type specimen is MLBS 741, a set of teeth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Montalbán 1D, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in Spain.
It was recombined as Elfomys nanus by Astibia et al. (2000).
