Diplodocus hallorum

Taxonomy
Seismosaurus halli was named by Gillette (1991). Its type specimen is NMMNH P-3690, a set of postcrania, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is NMMNH locality L-344, which is in a Kimmeridgian/Tithonian channel sandstone in the Morrison Formation of New Mexico.

It was corrected as Seismosaurus hallorum by Hunt and Lucas (1993), Olshevsky (2000), Mateus (2006), Herne and Lucas (2006), Carpenter (2006), Chure et al. (2006) and Cerda (2008); it was recombined as Diplodocus hallorum by Lucas et al. (2006), Dumont et al. (2011) and Tschopp et al. (2015).
