Taxonomy
Struthiolarella was named by Steinmann and Wilkens (1908) [Sepkoski's age data: T Dani T Mi Sepkoski's reference number: 126,614]. Its type is Struthiolaria ameghinoi.

It was assigned to Gastropoda by Cossmann (1909); to Struthiolariidae by Malumian et al. (1978), Gazdzicki and Pugaczewska (1984), Frassinetti and Covacevich (1999) and Camacho et al. (2000); and to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002).
