Trochus subcarinatus was named by Lamarck (1804) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Paris Basin, Iran. Greece.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Trochus (Thalottia) subcarinatus by Kranz (1910); it was recombined as Jujubinus subcarinatus by Harzhauser (2004).
