Hutchemys acupictus
Taxonomy
Plastomenus acupictus was named by Hay (1907). Its type specimen is AMNH 1025, a partial shell (costals, hypoplastron, and xiphiplastron), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chaco Cañon neighborhood, which is in a Puercan/Torrejonian terrestrial horizon in the Nacimiento Formation of New Mexico.
It was recombined as Derrisemys acupictus by Hutchison (2009); it was recombined as Hutchemys acupictus by Vitek and Joyce (2015).
