Staurikosaurus pricei
Taxonomy
Staurikosaurus pricei was named by Colbert (1970). Its type specimen is MCZ 1669, a partial skeleton (both mandibular rami with fragments of teeth in situ; six cervical, 15 dorsal, three sacral, and 34 caudal vertebrae; rib fragments; distal left scapula; ilia, ), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Alemõa, Sanga Baixo (MCZ), which is in a Carnian terrestrial sandstone/siltstone in the Santa Maria Formation of Brazil.
