It was recombined as Natica (Neverita) josephinia by Glaessner (1926); it was recombined as Polinices (Neverita) josephinia by Hözl (1958) and Hölzl (1958); it was recombined as Neverita josephinia by Sacco (1891), Sacco (1894), Givens and Kennedy (1976), Majima (1989), Harzhauser (2002) and Harzhauser (2004).
