Corbula gallicula was named by Deshayes (1857) [DISTRIBUTION: Paleogene; Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Bicorbula gallicula by Le Renard and Pacaud (1995) and Jeffery and Tracey (1997).
