Taxonomy
Lucina (Loripinus) salamensis was named by Thiele and Jaeckel (1931) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Leucosphaera.

It was recombined as Leucosphaera salamensis by Taylor and Glover (2005).
