Lucina venusta was named by Philippi (1847) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; Indo-Pacific.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Lepidolucina.
It was recombined as Myrtea venusta by Hedley (1913); it was recombined as Phacoides (Lucinisca) venusta by Lamy (1920); it was recombined as Lepidolucina venusta by Glover and Taylor (2007).
