Taxonomy
Fusus episomus was named by Michelotti (1861) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Mediterranean-Iran, Pakistan.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Xancus episomus by Cox (1934); it was recombined as Xancus episoma by Iqbal (1980); it was recombined as Turbinella episoma by Bellardi (1884), Vredenburg (1925), Harzhauser (2004) and Harzhauser et al. (2009).
