Taxonomy
Voluta anceps was named by Michelotti (1861) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Italy, Pakistan.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Lyria anceps by Bellardi (1890), Vredenburg (1925), Iqbal (1980), Harzhauser (2004) and Harzhauser et al. (2009).
