Ancillaria glandiformis was named by Lamarck (1810) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Ancilla (Baryspira) glandiformis by Görges (1952); it was recombined as Ancilla glandiformis by Baldi (1986); it was recombined as Amalda (Baryspira) glandiformis by Harzhauser (2002); it was recombined as Amalda glandiformis by Harzhauser (2004).
