It was reranked as Cymatium (Turritriton) by Todd (2001), Beu (2005) and Landau et al. (2008).

It was assigned to Ranellidae by Stilwell and Zinsmeister (1992); to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); to Cymatium by Todd (2001), Beu (2005) and Landau et al. (2008); to Ranellinae by Beu (2010); and to Cymatiinae by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
