Taxonomy
Isoarca etheridgei was named by Tate (1896). Its type specimen is SAM T 1221a, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Sthenodonta etheridgei by Pojeta and Gilbert-Tomlinson (1977).
