Lucapina was named by Sowerby (1835) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol R]. It is extant.

It was reranked as Fissurella (Lucapina) by Cossmann and Peyrot (1917).

It was assigned to Fissurella by Cossmann and Peyrot (1917); to Fissurellinae by Knight et al. (1960); to Fissurellidae by Todd (2001); and to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).

Synonyms
  • Foraminella was named by Sowerby (1835) [Not homonym Foraminella Levinson 1909, a bryozoan, now replaced with Opaeophora]. It is extant.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Lucapina by Dall (1915).
