Voorwindia was named by Ponder (1984) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol Sepkoski's reference number: ZR85 (NOTE: this is wrongIt is a recent genus, and it's not clear that it has any fossil species.)]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Rissoidae by Ponder (1984); and to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002).

W. F. Ponder 1984Shell: small (up to about 2.6 mm in length), broadly ovate-conic, narrowly umbilicate to imperforate, with convex whorls and periphery. Sculpture of teleoconch of weak axial growth lines, and spiral microstriae or minute granules. Aperture ovate, angled but not channelled posteriorly, rounded and simple anteriorly. Outer lip thin, orthocline, with or without weak varix behind outer lip (Fig. 122A). Protoconch of about 1 %-2 Y4 whorls, initial whorl small, with weak, axial growth striae V-shaped at a weak spiral cord on last whorl. Periostracum very thin, trans parent.
