Taxonomy
Eobaataridae was named by Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (1987). Its type is Eobaatar. It was considered monophyletic by Kielan-Jaworowska and Hurum (2001).
It was reranked as the subfamily Eobaatarinae by Cuenca-Bescós et al. (1996).
It was assigned to Taeniolabidoidea by Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (1987); to Plagiaulacidae by Cuenca-Bescós et al. (1996); to Plagiaulacida by Kielan-Jaworowska and Hurum (2001) and Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004); and to Multituberculata by Weaver et al. (2020).
It was reranked as the subfamily Eobaatarinae by Cuenca-Bescós et al. (1996).
