Taxonomy
Pterodon dahkoensis was named by Chow (1975). Its type specimen is PGM-V 1297, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shiwopu, Dahko, which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Lumeiyi Formation of China. It is the type species of Orienspterodon.
It was recombined as Orienspterodon dahkoensis by Egi et al. (2007) and Peigné et al. (2007).
