Taxonomy
Hydnophora incerta was named by Morycowa (1971). Its type locality is Valea Izvorul Alb, Rarau area, NE Romania, which is in an Aptian shallow subtidal marl in Romania.

It was recombined as Eohydnophora incerta by Löser and Ferry (2006).
