Phasianella spirata was named by Grateloup (1832) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; France.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Phasianella (Tricolia) spirata by Cossmann and Peyrot (1917); it was recombined as Tricolia spirata by Lozouet et al. (2001).
