Taxonomy
Crassatellites (Crassinella) guppyi was named by Dall (1896) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Pliocene; Caribbean.]. Its type specimen is USNM 107151, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Crassinella guppyi by Maury (1917) and Woodring (1925).
