Terebra bipartita was named by Sowerby (1849) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Caribbean.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Terebra (Acus) bipartita by Dall (1895); it was recombined as Terebra (Oxymeris) bipartita by Dall (1903).
