Terebra (Acus) bipartita cirrus was named by Dall (1895) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Terebra (Oxymeris) bipartita cirrus by Dall (1903); it was recombined as Terebra cirrus by Maury (1917); it was recombined as Terebra cirra by Anderson (1929); it was recombined as Terebra (Strioterebrum) cirrus by Woodring (1928) and Hendy et al. (2008).
