Terebra (Acus) amitra was named by Dall (1895) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Terebra (Oxymeris) amitra by Dall (1903); it was recombined as Terebra amitra by Maury (1917).
