Taxonomy
Buccinum subulatum was named by Linnaeus (1767) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; Indo-Pacific.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Terebra, Terebra (Terebra).

It was recombined as Terebra subulatum by Bruguiére (1789) and Lamarck (1799); it was recombined as Terebra (Terebra) subulatum by Woodring (1928); it was recombined as Terebra subulata by Kosnik (2002) and Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
