Axelella scalatella

Taxonomy
Cancellaria scalatella was named by Guppy (1873) [DISTRIBUTION; Early Pliocene; Jamaica.]. Its type specimen is USNM 115474, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Cancellaria (Trigonostoma) scalatella by Dall (1903); it was recombined as Trigonostoma scalatella by Woodring (1928) and Woodring (1970); it was recombined as Olssonella scalatella by Petit (1970); it was recombined as Axelella scalatella by Petit (1988) and Landau et al. (2012).
