Drillia ebenina was named by Dall (1890) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene-Recent; Florida.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Crassispira ebenina by Woodring (1928); it was recombined as Clathrodrillia ebenina by DuBar (1958); it was recombined as Glossispira ebenina by Hendy et al. (2008).
