Taxonomy
Drillia foveolata was named by Pilsbry and Johnson (1922) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Dominican Republic.]. Its type specimen is USNM 369371, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Agladrillia (Agladrillia) foveolata by Woodring (1928) and Hendy et al. (2008).
