Ceratobulimina was named by Toula (1915) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi R]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Cassidulinidae by Wienrich (1997); to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ceratobulimininae by Cushman (1927) and Missotti (2022).
