Taxonomy
Mangilia consentanea was named by Guppy (1896). Its type specimen is USNM 107091, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Saccharoturris.

It was recombined as Saccharoturris consentanea by Woodring (1928) and Woodring (1970).
