Taxonomy
Cythara guppyi was named by Dall (1896) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Pliocene; Jamaica.]. Its type specimen is USNM 107145, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Tenaturris guppyi by Woodring (1928) and Hendy et al. (2008).
