Pleurotoma (Glyphostoma) mexicana was named by Toula (1911) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; Mexico.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Glyphostoma mexicana by Woodring (1928); it was recombined as Glyphostoma (Glyphostoma) mexicana by Todd (2001).
