It was recombined as Saxicava arctica by Glenn (1904); it was recombined as Hiatella (Hiatella) arctica by Freneix et al. (1988) and Moths et al. (2010); it was recombined as Hiatella arctica by Abbott (1974), Bosselaers et al. (2004) and Hendy (2020).
