Taxonomy
Tellina balthica was named by Linnaeus (1758) [DISTRIBUTION: Greenland, Hudson Bay, Gulf of St Lawrence, Quebec.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Macoma balthica by Matthews (1967) and Coan et al. (2000).
