Marginella venezuelana was named by Hodson et al. (1927) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Venezuela, Panama.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Persicula (Rabicea) venezuelana by Rutsch (1934) and Woodring (1970); it was recombined as Persicula venezuelana by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
