Marginella (Persicula) propeobesa was named by Mansfield (1925) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocence; Trinidad and Tobago.]. Its type specimen is USNM 352651, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USGS 9195, which is in a Miocene marine siliciclastic in Trinidad and Tobago.
It was recombined as Persicula propeobesa by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
