Conus mcgintyi was named by Pilsbry (1955) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; Florida, Cuba.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Dalliconus.
It was recombined as Dalliconus mcgintyi by Tucker and Tenorio (2009); it was recombined as Conasprella (Dalliconus) mcgintyi by Puillandre et al. (2015).
