Drillia vaningeni machapoorensis was named by Maury (1925) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Gemmula machapoorensis by Woodring (1970) and Hendy et al. (2008).

Synonyms
  • Turris brassoensis was named by Mansfield (1925) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Trinidad and Tobago.]. Its type specimen is USNM 352626, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Gemmula machapoorensis by Woodring (1970).
  • Hemipleurotoma bitropis was named by Gardner (1938) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; Florida.]. It is not a trace fossil.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Gemmula machapoorensis by Woodring (1970).
