Taxonomy
Oliva multicoides was named by Gabb (1873) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Dominican Republic.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was corrected as Oliva muticoides by Gabb (1873); it was recombined as Olivella muticoides by Maury (1917) and Olsson (1922); it was recombined as Olivella (Olivella) muticoides by Woodring (1928) and Olsson (1956).
