Oliva anazora was named by Duclos (1815) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; Eastern Pacific.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Olivella (Dactylidella).

It was recombined as Olivella (Dactylidella) anazora by Woodring (1928) and Olsson (1956).
