Marginella (Gibberula) lachrimula was named by Gould (1862) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocence-Recent; Carribean.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Marginella lacrimula by Mansfield (1925); it was recombined as Cypraeolina lacrimula by Woodring (1928); it was recombined as Granulina lacrimula by Hendy et al. (2008).
